    Unless the lick is using open strings or something you can pretty much do it anywhere on the neck, just be aware that the B&G strings don’t have the same relationship as the others. (hope that makes sense) You are correct on the second part – the background music (it’s chords), will determine where the licks will sound best.

    i dont get why you can only do licks in certain place or the guitar…or it it just in those places cause it fits in the scales and sounds best that way..btw love you tele
