Put a strap button …
Put a strap button just on the bottom of the neck of your guitar [near the body] don’t tie it, it’ll bend the neck over time.

does anyone know …
does anyone know where i can get a book or something to teach me to play? or do i need to pay for lessons? I think it would be much easier to just get a book that teaches you?

I am new to guitar …
I am new to guitar and mine is a Yamaha FD02 I think. I dunno how much it cost, but it makes a squeaking sound when I switch frets and noise whenever I press or release the strings (all the time). I realize that this is normal, but mine does it all the time and I find it annoying when I am trying to play. Is there anyway to stop this or do I need a better quality guitar?

for acoustic …
for acoustic electrics, the finish can be important if it ‘picks up’ your shirt rubbing against the guitar. so annoying! you’ll need a glossy finish if that happens.
