    Put a strap button …
Put a strap button just on the bottom of the neck of your guitar [near the body] don’t tie it, it’ll bend the neck over time.

I am new to guitar …
I am new to guitar and mine is a Yamaha FD02 I think. I dunno how much it cost, but it makes a squeaking sound when I switch frets and noise whenever I press or release the strings (all the time). I realize that this is normal, but mine does it all the time and I find it annoying when I am trying to play. Is there anyway to stop this or do I need a better quality guitar?

    for acoustic …
for acoustic electrics, the finish can be important if it ‘picks up’ your shirt rubbing against the guitar. so annoying! you’ll need a glossy finish if that happens.

    well… for a …
well… for a beginner guitar I would say you might wanna start with something that gives you a good sound.. for the fact that if you wanna start playing you wanna learn with something that helps you develope a good ear to music.. you don’t wanna buy a “KIMA” for $100 because you’ll get screwed.. and wont learn as good.. LOL… I suggest you start out with like a SIGMA guitar for around $300 to $400… you are guaranteed to develope good playing skills as well as ear skills

    Whenever you’re …
Whenever you’re talking about guitars, you get what you pay for. I would suggest to any beginner not spend a lot of money. Maybe check out a pawn shop for a used one, or even a garage sale. The first acoustic I bought was a Yamaha. It was about $130.00 at the time. It was cheap but it still has a nice sound, and it hasn’t lost the tone, (yet). I’d suggest not spending more than around $100.00 if just starting out.
